"It’s a hugely moving and poetic treatment of a potentially grim conclusion"Herald

Mrs. Ophelia is an international hit and traveled all over the world.
Ophelia is going to be a great actress who will travel the world, or at least that is what her parents want for her. In order to prepare her, Ophelia’s father reads to her all the great stories and plays. Unfortunately, her voice is so soft that becoming an actress is out of the question. She finds work as a prompter in a small theatre.
Miss Ophelia, based on the picture book Ophelia’s Shadow Theater by Michael Ende, is a performance full of playfulness and light, lots and lots of objects, and even more shadows. The show travelled to Dublin, Edinburgh, Malta, Belfast, New York, London, Sydney and Melbourne and is getting rave reviews.
In the Netherlands Miss Ophelia won the prestigious Zilveren Krekel (Silver Cricket) award for most impressive production. In 2014 Miss Ophelia has been nominated for a Helpmann Award: the most eminent arts award in Australia. Het Filiaal theatermakers is the first ever theatre company from the Netherlands to be nominated for this prestigious prize.
