Miss Ophelia English spoken6 tot 106 jr

Mrs. Ophelia is an international hit and traveled all over the world.

Ophelia is going to be a great actress who will travel the world, or at least that is what her parents want for her. In order to prepare her, Ophelia’s father reads to her all the great stories and plays. Unfortunately, her voice is so soft that becoming an actress is out of the question. She finds work as a prompter in a small theatre.

Miss Ophelia, based on the picture book Ophelia’s Shadow Theater by Michael Ende, is a performance full of playfulness and light, lots and lots of objects, and even more shadows. The show travelled to Dublin, Edinburgh, Malta, Belfast, New York, London, Sydney and Melbourne and is getting rave reviews.

In the Netherlands Miss Ophelia won the prestigious Zilveren Krekel (Silver Cricket) award for most impressive production. In 2014 Miss Ophelia has been nominated for a Helpmann Award: the most eminent arts award in Australia. Het Filiaal theatermakers is the first ever theatre company from the Netherlands to be nominated for this prestigious prize.

Miss Ophelia English spoken in beeld

"It’s a hugely moving and poetic treatment of a potentially grim conclusion"
Herald
"Miss Ophelia is forty-five minutes of theatrical delight"
Het Parool
They enjoyed the story and appreciated that there was an interpreter on stage, and also the actors spoke a few words of Mandarin.
Interview Monique Corvers
It’s a show that’s sometimes funny, sometimes moving, and parents in a way can worry that it’ll be a little bit too moving for their kids, but kids don’t agree with that, and that is the same all over the world.
