OUCH is about a child who loves structure and routine and dislikes chaos, surprises, and strangers. The child gets angry and sometimes even furious from excessive stimuli. New things can be exciting, or a little scary. How do you overcome this fear so that you will try new things anyway? And how do you go from the level of overstimulation to the level of relaxation? A visual performance full of action, dance, and kung fu. This daylight performance is being developed by guest creator Jaike Belfor (Mixed Martial Arts fighter, actress, and stagefight choreographer). As an actor at Het Filiaal, she appeared in Back to Oz, Scheur in de Tijd, and The Neverending Story. Jaike is developing into a director to tell her own stories.

Workshop - April 25
Filiaaltheater In this workshop, children and their caregivers/parents will get to work with elements from the performance themselves. Do you recognize that fearful little voice inside you when you find something scary? Or that powerful feeling when you feel very brave? Join us on an adventure and overcome every obstacle you encounter along the way with stage-fighting and the power of your own breath. The only thing you need to bring is your imagination!

Arts education accompanying the performance Filiaal theatermakers develops online teaching materials and workshops for OUCH. We connect the themes from the performance to regular curriculum areas and appeal to students' own creative abilities. The primary focus here is on enabling students to discover, experiment, and create something themselves based on their own creative capacity. For regular education, we offer one Dance Workshop.
